About
Streatham Pulse is an independent website for and about Streatham. The Blog includes articles about music, arts & culture, regeneration, news and a little bit of politics.
The Listings give you the lowdown on local events, and the businesses you need to know about, both on and off the High Road. The Streatham Network is where you can join up and become a member of the community. You’ll get your own profile page, which you can use to promote your work or your interests. This a great place for local artists, musicians, community groups or independent businesses to promote themselves. The Forum is the place to discuss local issues, place an advert, make a recommendation or write a review.
Streatham Pulse was set up by a local resident, with a keen appreciation for one of South London’s less celebrated areas, and with too much time on his hands. We aim to argue the case for Streatham as London’s greatest un-sung area.
Streatham Pulse started small in the summer of 2009 but has really picked up a head of steam recently. The Streatham Guardian wrote an article about Streatham Pulse in March when the Streatham clothing range was released. Around the same time Dave Hill’s blog at The Guardian.co.uk also mentioned the site. At the beginning of May, New London Review, a magazine for Streatham, Brixton & Clapham was released and featured several articles from Streatham Pulse. Look out for the next issue this month.
If you like the site, the greatest support you could give would be to join the Streatham Network and encourage your friends to do the same. Please use the forum to start a discussion, offer something for sale, recommend a good local plumber, or just chat. You can also follow Streatham Pulse on Twitter or become a friend on Facebook.
Thanks, I hope you enjoy the site.
